Žabljak is the highest town in the Balkans and the gateway to Durmitor, the Black Lake and the Tara canyon. It is a long, spectacular drive — and one that is far more comfortable in a booked vehicle than on a bus with two changes.
Get a fixed priceAbout 150 km and 2 h 30. The motorway takes you to Mateševo, then the road runs through Mojkovac, over the Đurđevića Tara bridge — worth a five-minute stop — and up onto the Durmitor plateau at 1,450 m.
In winter the last section is genuine mountain driving. Our vehicles run winter tyres and carry chains, and the driver will tell you honestly if conditions mean leaving earlier.
About 2 hours 30 minutes for 150 km via the motorway to Mateševo and the Tara bridge.
Yes, a short photo stop at Đurđevića Tara is included on request — just say so when you book.
It is maintained and open in normal winter weather, and our vehicles are equipped for it. In heavy snow we adjust the departure time rather than rush the mountain section.
