The drive and the border

Roughly 175 km and about 2 h 50 of driving, plus whatever the border takes. The route runs through the Bay of Kotor to Herceg Novi and crosses into Croatia at Debeli Brijeg / Karasovići, then follows the coast past Cavtat into Dubrovnik.

Border waits are usually minutes outside the season and can be an hour or more on a Saturday in August. We build a realistic buffer into any transfer that ends at an airport, and we watch the queue reports before setting the pick-up time.

What every passenger needs

  • A valid passport, or an ID card accepted for this crossing
  • Any visa required for Croatia and the Schengen area, if it applies to you
  • For children travelling without both parents, the documentation their nationality requires

The vehicle side — cross-border licence, green card insurance, road tolls — is our responsibility and is already in the price.

Dubrovnik, Cavtat and DBV airport

We drop off at hotels in Dubrovnik and Lapad, at the Pile and Ploče gates for the Old Town, in Cavtat, at the cruise port in Gruž and at Dubrovnik Airport in Čilipi. The reverse trip — Dubrovnik to Podgorica Airport — is booked exactly the same way.
